Monthly Divine Liturgies Begin Sunday, September 6
We are delighted to announce that monthly celebrations of the Divine Liturgy begin on Sunday, September 6, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan — on Sundays at 4:00 PM, with the Typika service prayed on the Sundays in between, so that our community never goes two Sundays without gathering. The full schedule is posted on the parish calendar.

Subdeacon Alexandru Hening to be Ordained to the Holy Diaconate
By the grace of God and through the laying on of hands of Bishop John Michael Botean, Subdeacon Dr. Alexandru Hening will be ordained to the Holy Diaconate during the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:30 AM. The ordination will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church (the New Church), 603 Church Avenue, College Station, Texas. All are warmly invited to share in this joyful celebration and to keep the ordinand in their prayers. The celebrations continue on Sunday, September 27, at 4:00 PM, with the Baptism of Luca Hening during the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Holy Mysteries of Initiation of Luca Apollonius Hening
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 4:00 PM, during a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Grace Bishop John Michael Botean at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, Luca Apollonius Hening will receive the Holy Mysteries of Baptism, Chrismation, and First Holy Communion. The Liturgy will also be the first served by the newly ordained Deacon Alexandru Hening. All are warmly invited; a reception will follow. Kindly reply by September 5.

Alexandru Hening Instituted to the Subdiaconate
On Sunday, May 31, 2026 — the First Sunday after Pentecost — Bishop John Michael Botean tonsured Dr. Alexandru Hening as a Reader and instituted him as a Subdeacon at the Blessed Martyr Bishops Byzantine Catholic Mission in Nashville, during an eparchial pilgrimage with the relics of the Blessed Romanian Martyr Bishops. We give thanks to God for this joyful step in service to the Church.

With the blessing of Bishop John Michael Botean, our community has begun the journey toward becoming a mission of the Romanian Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of St. George. For now, we gather to pray the Typika and to share fellowship as we grow.
