Subdeacon Alexandru Hening to be Ordained to the Holy Diaconate

By the grace of God and through the laying on of hands of Bishop John Michael Botean, Subdeacon Dr. Alexandru Hening will be ordained to the Holy Diaconate during the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:30 AM. The ordination will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church (the New Church), 603 Church Avenue, College Station, Texas. All are warmly invited to share in this joyful celebration and to keep the ordinand in their prayers.

A reception will follow the Divine Liturgy. Kindly reply by September 5.

Alexandru Hening Instituted to the Subdiaconate

On Sunday, May 31, 2026 — the First Sunday after Pentecost — Bishop John Michael Botean tonsured Dr. Alexandru Hening as a Reader and instituted him as a Subdeacon at the Blessed Martyr Bishops Byzantine Catholic Mission in Nashville, during an eparchial pilgrimage with the relics of the Blessed Romanian Martyr Bishops. We give thanks to God for this joyful step in service to the Church.
